My dad is one of the main reasons I started playing guitar. I used to wake up and hear him playing this beautiful music on his washburn early in the mornings! (the best hangover cure ever). He is one of my biggest influences. My first guitar was a green countryman acoustic, which he bought for me at a flea market.
I used to listen to my parents' records all the time, It's where I first heard the likes of Hendrix, Stray Cats, Thin Lizzy, The Prodigy, Neil Young and way too many more to mention. It was thanks to their record collection that I found real music. Once, I asked for Iron Maiden's 'Rock In Rio' album for my birthday, my dad refused and bought me Led Zepplin's 'How The West Was Won' instead! I soon realised why.
later on my friends introduced me to bands like 'System of a Down' and 'Pantera! those bands added the balls to my music pot....
I am a massive fan of 'Muse's 'hullabaloo soundtrack' I'd listen to it all the time, that was the album that really made me want to gig!
My live performance has been influenced enormously by Iggy Pop's raw energy, his stage presence is frenetic and powerful, it inspires me to let go and give my all.
I love playing guitar, going to gigs and playing live. There's something about the energy and the music mixing together that creates a feeling that words can't describe.
Being in this band is one of the best things that has ever happend to me, I have learnt so much and met truly great people through it.
'that music is so powerful that it's quite beyond my control, when I'm in the grips of it I don't feel pleasure and I don't feel pain, either physically or emotionally. Do you understand what I'm talking about? Have you ever felt like that? When you just couldn't feel anything and you didn't want to either.'- James Osterburg.
